Top 3 Contractor Advertising Ideas

I started out with a small cleaning business and had to learn the hard way how to advertise and market my business. In this video, we will discuss the most effective ways to advertise including Google’s Pay Per Click, ads with that include a REASON to find your company and retargeting.
The best way to advertise online is to get your company ranked at the top of Google’s search results for a specific service. For instance, plumbers can rank for leak detection or pipe repair or both of those services. The key is working with Google’s guidelines to ensure your company’s website is recognized by the search engine. This is free, but does take time and effort. Adwords or Pay-per-click ads allow you to purchase certain keywords for your business, so the plumber could bid on “leak detection” and “pipe repair” for a certain amount of money. Then each time someone searches for these keywords, the plumber’s ad will appear. Now this can become very expensive, especially with competitive keywords and big cities with a lot of competition. So focus on what you can afford and set a budget for your ad campaign. Watch this video on what to watch out for when dealing with online marketing service providers.
Another very effective technique is to pair a print ad with a specific reason to visit your website. Just stating “Visit our Website” is not enough, people need to be guided, they need their hand held. So include a statement of action, “For a Special Deal” or “Watch for Tips on How..” This will increase interest and set intent for prospective clients. Be creative and know your audience!
Once people are engaging with your website and clicking on some of your ads, you can then set up what’s called retargeting ads. This technique tracks who has visited your website and then sends them reoccurring ads on Facebook or Google that will build a familiarity with potential clients. This relationship is so important in the Contractor industry because the decisions of these clients usually take time, think of a bathroom remodel or a home renovation. A potential client is more likely to chose the company he has seen around the internet for the last few weeks rather than some random name out of the YellowPages.
