Home Remodeling Leads - Tips for Contractors
Hello everyone, once again, I’m Joe Burnich, coming to you from Missoula, MT. Today we are going to focus on how to generate leads for your home remodeling business. We will talk about certain things you can do in person and online that will help to bolster your business connections and drive up new leads.
Referrals are one of the best ways to generate new leads. Developing friends in the business, local companies and past clients, are great ways to increase your chances of having a referral for a future job. We here at Big West Marketing use certain online resources to find new leads for our clients. Things like Google SEO, Pay Per Click (PPC) and Facebook ads are the main ways we find new business for our clients. But there are a few things you can do as a business owner to get started today on your own. Let’s get started.
First, in order to market successfully online, you must have an updated website. Your website should have your logo and hopefully your main service somewhere in your company’s name. Also, filling the pages of your website should be unique content which means blog posts and pictures that are created or taken by you or someone inside your business. Google likes to see unique content and regular updates to show that you mean business so do not copy and paste. This will hurt your ranking with Google. Another important technique is to separate the services that your business provides on individual pages. A common mistake made by folks in this industry is that they list all their services on one page in a service tab for example or on the homepage. If your services are listed separately, this means that you specialize in all those services and it is possible for Google to rank your company for each individual service.
Once your website is fully updated and mobile friendly, the next step is to register with Google and other certain online directories such as Yelp, Yellowpages and Facebook. It is important to make sure that your company’s information, such as phone number and company name, are consistent across all of these directories. Sometimes a company will tweak their name or use a different address for a different service. This is bad practice. Google likes to see your company’s information the same across the board. It shows that you are a legitimate company, not hiding anything or playing any tricks. There are online resources that will list the important directories that you should be in for your city. Getting your business to rank near the top of Google is a great way to get new, fresh leads. It may take some time, but in the long run, it is worth it. The top 3 companies that show up in a Google search will take about 80% of the calls. This is where the money is to be made. And if you do decide to hire a company to take care of all your SEO needs, beware of scams and companies that promise the moon. Make sure to ask questions and properly investigate before you give someone money to rank your business on Google.
